I enjoy watching The Voice for many reasons. One is I enjoy seeing people go after their dreams. I am always in awe of the talent that is out there and love to hear someone who has a gifted voice sing. I like to see people’s unique personality esp. when they put their own spin on a song. I love music and lastly Adam Levine is adorable.
My favorite part of watching The Voice is the coaching. The coaching that the celebrities give the vocalists is much like life coaching. The coaches see the person and their talent and work with them to bring their potential out. They don’t try to change them but they challenge them. They are in their corner and are there to help them grow and reach their goals and dreams. The coach has them think about or see things they didn’t see before. Sometimes it’s a little practical thing like the way they move around the stage or hold the mic, or connect with the audience. Often times you see the little suggestions or tweaks that the coaches suggests that make all the difference when they perform. It’s great to see the person improve and grow from week to week.
The vocalist has the talent and the dream. They have to do the work. They make the choices and ultimately it is up to them. It’s so cool to see the interaction and the relationship between the coach and the vocalist. They become a team and you can see the joy and pride that they both have when the hard work has paid off.
I really like you blog and the metaphor of the talented singers and all of us who are looking for direction.
I, too, like The Voice and you made it clear why it is so popular.
